SunPulse began in 1999 as the makers of the first digital HID lamp in the world, created by GAS Technologies. GAS Technologies is composed of the world’s leading lighting scientists and application engineers. The GAS team has decades of experience in the disciplines of lighting, engineering, plasma science, controlled environment agriculture and more. GAS knew in the very beginning of these technologies, that a digital lamp must be made to match the digital ballast.

What sets SunPulse apart is that we’re plant scientists who make lighting for plants. Other lamp companies make lighting for human vision, not for the living thing underneath them. For example, HPS light was never really good for plants, it’s 22% of the Sun, how can it be good for them? Yet other companies continue to promote the fact that “HPS is good for plants”. Why do they keep saying it? Plant science and photo-biology prove its improper light. The color of an HPS light is one part of a much larger spectrum. Don’t buy H.I.D. lamps and electronic ballasts that aren’t a matched set! Buying mis-matched components creates hardware conflicts that cause pre-mature failures. This is why SunPulse laboratories have a “certification” process for electronic ballasts, to insure that consumers get a proper working matched set that won’t fail before its time. Important Note:

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has set the reference for safety in lighting for decades. ANSI codes appear in lamp and ballast catalogs as the rating for which lamp goes with which ballast. Those ratings applied to 60 hertz magnetic ballasts and 60 hertz lamps. These ratings DO NOT apply to digital/electronic ballasts and digital lamps. ANSI ratings are for magnetic ballast and lamps only! There are no ANSI ratings for electronic ballasts and digital lamps.
